Lets begin with some herbs and home remedies that are generally used to treat arthritic symptoms:

Cherry Juice:

Black Cherry Juice has been found popularity by many recently as a home remedy to treat arthritis pain. The truth is, ANY 100% cherry juice can provide the benefit that black cherry juice does, because the same chemicals that that "work their magic" can be found in red cherries as well. The proven benefit of cherry juice was demonstrated to work for gout, which is a specific type of very painful arthritis. The studies were not very big, so further evidence is needed to see just how effective cherry juice is at preventing joint pain, but so far, it has some very real evidence to back it up.

The typical amount needed for medical benefit is 2 oz - 4 oz every day for 2 - 3 months. It may take a while to see results, but the benefit can be well worth it.

Ginger:

Ginger has a history that makes it one of the oldest used herbs in the world, and it has been used for many applications, including bad breath and inflammation. Because of its popularity, there have been some substantial studies conducted on its ability to treat arthritis pain. One study in particular used 261 people suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee, the most common form of arthritis. When the study was finished, the results were promising. The people who took ginger as opposed to the placebo experienced less pain, and didn't need to take the amount of arthritis medications prior to taking the ginger. Whats more, Several studies have demonstrated similar results.

One study was conducted that couldn't determine ginger did anything more than a placebo, but most studies agree ginger has proven some ability to reduce arthritis symptoms. This makes ginger a safe, home remedy for arthritis pain.

To treat arthritis you can take 2 - 4 grams per day, in the form of an extract, tea, or even a juice. Some people will rub ginger oil directly into the area around joints, however there isn't any proof that this provides a benefit, and more research is needed.

Turmeric:

Turmeric is common in Indian dishes, and is often used in that culture to treat pain because it contains a compound called curcumin. It makes turmeric yellow, and it has some strong anti-inflammatory properties. In fact, turmeric is related to ginger. It can be a potent herbal remedy for osteoarthritis. This aspect was found in India's top drug research institute, and the eastern world widely uses it as a treatment for inflammation and pain.

All of these herbs have research that back them up as effective herbal treatments for arthritis symptoms. Please talk to a doctor or medical professional before you start any treatment, herbal, home remedy, or otherwise.
