Shajith Koyeri was born in Punnol in Kannur district of Kerala, to Soma Sundaran and Rathibayi. He attended the Palleri Lakshmiyamma Memmorial UP school and later enrolled in the St.Joseph School, Thalassery. He attended Brennan College in Thalassery for his further studies. He discontinued the college life in the earlier stage itself due to rheumatoid arthritis. After a long drawn illness he gathered himself and decided to escape the ordeal and formulate a new beginning to his life. He consequently decided to relocate to Mumbai in 1999.

With no film training or orientation in Audiography of any sort the industry was certainly a daunting place. However soon enough Shajith joined fireflys Post Sound Studio the first exclusive sync sound design studio in the country, where he was trained by national award winner Satheesh PM and learned the art of sound design from first principles. From there he went on to specialise in post production for sync sound films and sound design.
