In traditional Chinese medicine, mile-a-minute weed is known as ''gangbangui'' , and is valued for its diuretic, anti-inflammatory, and other effects. It may also be eaten as a sour-flavored leaf vegetable, although its relatively high content of oxalic acid means that it should be eaten in.
