Massage is a form of alternative medicine, the physical manipulation of the muscles to relieve tension and stress to include. This specialized treatment is often used as part of physical therapy, and to promote effective prevention, and many other serious illnesses. Massage is used to treat arthritis, depression, diabetes, fatigue, headache, hypertension, infertility, back pain, circulation problems, and tendonitis.
Massage is a safe and effective treatment, if performed by an experienced therapist. Physiotherapists work different settings, such as offices, hospitals, clinics, fitness centers, nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities. Massage can also work in the house. Massage can last anytime between 15 minutes to 2 hours depending on several factors, such as massage and the reasons for such care.
There are several types of massages. Some of the most common are aromatherapy, deep tissue, shiatsu, sports, Swedish, Thai massage, and the start of the pressure point:
- An aromatic massage is used for vegetable oils with different properties. Some essential oils help to reduce pain, while others affect the atmosphere of each. Eucalyptus, for example, may help to relieve pain or arthritis through its sedative and anti-inflammatory properties to treat and improves circulation.
- Deep tissue massage requires the use of relatively high pressure to relieve tense muscles. This massage is particularly useful to the tension in the muscles, ligaments and tendons to relieve. They can be used in chronic pain and improve mobility.
- Shiatsu massage is based on Japanese tradition and the flow of qi, or vital energy. Shiatsu usually includes a diagnosis of health and the application of pressure with the hands. The pressure applied to various parts of the body to correct imbalances therapist.
- Sports Massage can be integrated into physical therapy treatment to help recovery from sports injuries. These massages can also be used to increase productivity and the tension in certain parts of the body such as neck and back relief.
- Swedish massage is perhaps the best known. They relate to the use of a relatively long strokes and kneading, the length of the muscle. Swedish massage is often associated with used oil or powder to help eliminate the friction.
- Thai massage is deep tissue massage and stretching techniques.
- Trigger point massage focuses on muscle and relieve stress and pain.
The right type of massage will depend on several factors, including the terms used in the treatment and your personal preferences. A good starting point to negotiate with your doctor, make sure you a good candidate for massage. It should do some research to find well-trained massage therapist you feel comfortable. Many therapists are trained to perform different types of massage, so you can work with a massage therapist that best fits your needs.
