Exercising is very essential for success in losing weight. But it is very difficult to exercise, especially if you are too bulky. The lethargy that one gets used to, being heavy, makes exercising an extremely unpleasant activity, to be avoided at any cost. But that very lethargy will result in paying a rather heavy fine in the form of diabetes, stroke, hypertension, arthritis etc..
How can you positively motivate yourself to exercise on a regular basis? Here are a few tips to help you along the road to a fitter body and mind.
1. Do an activity that you like. If you like to walk, do so. If you like going to the gym, join one. If you are into yoga, get yourself registered in a yoga class. If you like what you do, it is not very difficult to motivate yourself to do it. It just happens.
2. Find a friend to exercise with you. Having a friend or loved one exercise with you gives you the necessary push. It is very easy to convince yourself that something else is more important than exercising, but if you have to say the same to another person, it will not sound as convincing and if that other person is in the wise about your lack of motivation he can gently push you in the right direction.
3. Your photo from the early days. Dig out an old photo of when you were slimmer and definitely more attractive. Stick it up where you can see it everyday. That alone will give you enough motivation to want to look the same again. You can also add positive affirmations alongside the photo to help you further in your quest.
Motivating yourself to start exercising and to keep at it and make it a lifelong habit is not as difficult as it may seem at first. The first step is the most difficult, but once you have taken it, the positive results it generates, automatically motivates you to continue further and slowly but surely exercise becomes a habit.
